Gadgets are interactive modules that present a snapshot of project-related data, providing real-time insights, analytics and representations. They enable users to create a consolidated view of essential project information and metrics, ensuring efficient and effective project management and monitoring.
Introducing Gadget Release
Gadget’s environments make it possible for developers to build and test new functionality without impacting end-users, and with one-click deployments it’s easy to push those changes into production. With the click of a button (and confirmation) your current development environment will be promoted to production, migrating any changes in models, fields, actions and code files to your production app and enabling users to access those new features.
We’ve introduced a number of changes to select interfaces in Gadget, including the Editor and the Gadget generated GraphQL API, designed to help you better manage and troubleshoot your app when working with multiple environments. For example, you can now toggle the Editor logs between development and production with a click, to easily identify errors in your application’s code.
Gadgets can be configured to display a different set of columns based on the current environment, and these settings are applied to both the gadget itself and the Structure Board when users view the gadget. This ensures that your configurations will be consistent across both interfaces, and is especially useful when working with multiple environments. If you want to save your column settings, simply click the Save link, which will apply them everywhere the gadget is used – in the Gadget, on Structure Board and anywhere else that the view is available to users with Update access. If you decide to revert your adjustments, click the Revert link, which will remove them and return the gadget to its original setting.
